“The best part of this program is that you will learn and share with peers. I am very energetic, happy being around others and learning different things every day. It has opened my mind to learn new objectives that impact my life.”

“I recently started this program and I love it. I love to do different activities and meeting new people. I can say that it has impacted my life in a good way. I would say to others that this program is great! You can learn to be independent.”

“Being in the Ibero program has been great. I learned to interact with other people I didn’t know before and learning new skills in the program makes me happy. If you can come to this program, you will not regret it. The employees are good and they teach us new things every day.”

2022-2023 Highlights

  • This spring we started our new volunteer job! Twice a week, we participate in Meals on Wheels, delivering home cooked meals to several senior citizens and various others in the community. It feels good to give back to the community.

In Memoriam: Lydia Irizarry (October 17, 1957 - April 7, 2023)

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day…unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.” – Unknown

Lydia was full of laughter, love and you could always hear her singing her favorite songs. We will always remember her infectious smile and happiness, her enthusiasm and joy. She instantly made you feel welcomed because she was the type of person that would greet you with the biggest hello and hug. She was more than a friend; she was family to many of us. Lydia lived in Ibero’s Seneca home from 1995 to 2022. She participated in our day program since 2006. She left us with beautiful memories, especially her songs like “mi escuelita” and “tu eres mi caramelo y chocolate”. Also her saying “mami llévame para la playa“ (mami take me to the beach). We miss her dearly. It’s truly not the same without her.
