Poder Latino 97.1 will provide a voice for the communities we serve while reinforcing civic and cultural diversity by providing a trusted source of information, music, and entertainment.
History of Poder
Poder was founded by the Ibero-American Action League, Inc. and had it’s first time on-air on November 30, 2015. Licensed by the FCC, 'El Poder Latino' 97.1 FM, is Rochester, New York's pioneering 24-hour radio station in upstate New York, now with a 25-mile commercial reach. Owned by the Ibero-American Action League, it serves the Latino community through a bilingual format of music, news, and educational content, focusing on Latin rhythms. The first DJ was Hector Arguinzoni, who introduced the airwaves to 'Vivir La Vida' by Marc Anthony after an off-air start with 'Juliana' by DLG.
