2022-2023 Highlights
- Ibero continúa impactando el futuro de nuestra juventud, creando oportunidades profesionales para los estudiantes hispanos de escuela secundaria, invirtiendo en aquellos que creemos que pueden convertirse en líderes del futuro y que cambien las reglas del juego. En 2022 entregamos 57 becas a estudiantes de Cuba, República Dominicana, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Colombia, México, España, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua.
- Ofrecemos oportunidades basadas en el mérito académico que van desde $500 o más para ser otorgadas en un año académico o más. Desde 1985, se invita a los estudiantes hispanos de escuela secundaria a solicitar oportunidades de becas en los condados de Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Wayne y Yates. Las solicitudes se reciben de enero a marzo.
- Colaboramos con Nazareth College para organizar una sesión para establecer contactos “networking” en persona que permitió a nuestros becarios conocer y saludar a sus proveedores. Celebramos una ceremonia virtual de reconocimiento de premios de becas, donde los miembros de la familia y los que apoyan el programa aprendieron sobre los estudiantes, los beneficiarios anteriores y el programa de becas de Ibero.

Update from an Ibero Scholar
“Hello, my name is Evelyn Rebert. In 2021 I was awarded the IBERO scholarship. I finished my first year at SUNY Brockport as a Nursing Major and Spanish minor. I had a great year, there were small challenges but I overcame them and finished my year off strong. My classes were time-consuming but by creating a strong schedule to balance friends and homework I was able to earn a 4.0 in both semesters. Last summer I worked two jobs, one in retail and the other one from home. Coincidentally, my professor offered me a job to work remotely for her and her research. I also took a summer class to lighten the load for this upcoming semester. I was overall happy with my first year and excited to get back to my college routine!”
