The Community Engagement Division’s mission is to advocate for and enhance the quality of life for all Latinos, from youth to senior. We achieve this by providing services in the areas of education, health, leadership development, cultural enrichment, social engagement and employment.

Community Resource Center (CRC)

Stability, Education, & Employment Services

Currently the Stability, Education, & Employment Services located at 777 Clifford Avenue in Rochester, offers services that focus on increasing the stability and quality of life among any Monroe County residents.

Our SEES case managers continue to serve our clients. In March 2020, a hotline was established in which clients could call and receive a referral for our services or other community resources. SEES staff has played a key role in ensuring Spanish-speaking clients were connected to the appropriate resources throughout the pandemic.

Youth & Community Engagement

Programa de Mediación de Justicia Restaurativa

Our Restorative Justice Mediation Program (RJM) provides restorative conversations and support for students at Monroe High School to reduce conflicts and suspensions, which results in a peaceful and productive learning environment. Last school year, RJM served 711 students, 504 of which only spoke Spanish.

Funded by the NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).

Ibero staff help coordinate social-emotional supports, assist families with mental health and substance abuse services, and meet community members where they are at.

El Programa de Capacitación de Zona Segura

The Safe Zone Training Program helps participants to increase awareness and identify ways that participants and their organizations can achieve more safe and inclusive workplaces, schools and other social settings that are culturally relevant and supportive to LGBTQI+ individuals, as well as straight, cisgender people who care about diversity, equality and inclusion.

Family & Community Engagement

Family Services Assistance Program

The Family Services Assistance Program (FSA) increases parent engagement in order to positively impact student attendance, behavior and suspension rates. Supports families of students at East High School, Monroe High School, School #17 and the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School by conducting home visits, setting goals, providing community referrals when needed, and holding a variety of parent workshops and trainings throughout the year.

Padres Comprometidos

The Padres Comprometidos Program engages parents in advocacy to ensure a quality education and support system for their children. The Padres program is offered over the course of 12 weeks to learn more or register, use the links below.
